OBJECTIVE:

To improve switch passing, catching skills and communication.

EQUIPMENT:

One ball for every five players.

DRILL SET-UP:

As shown in the diagram.

DRILL EXPLANATION:

  1. Players line up in a backline formation at one end of the field.
  2. The middle player C initially has the ball.
  3. Player C passes the ball to Player B who runs wide and scissors with Player A coming inside.
  4. Player A passes back to Player C who passes to Player D. Player D runs wide and scissors with Player E coming back inside.
  5. Player E passes back to Player C and the drill continues.
  6. When the player reaches the end of the grid they rotate positions and move back down the channel.

COACHING POINTS:

• Widen angle.
• Ball in two hands.
