DRILL EXPLANATION:

  1. Two players, one with a ball, are positioned in the centre of a circle of players.
  2. The ball-carrier drives into one of the players in the circle for about a metre and then drops to the ground before placing the ball for a support player.
  3. The support player clears the ball to another of the players in the circle.
  4. The player who went to ground then regains their feet, moves to the player now in possession, secures the ball, drives the metre again, drops and places for the drill to continue.
  5. Change roles to progress.

COACHING POINTS:

• Aggressive contact, loud and clear communication, correct body positioning, and placing of ball important.
• Urgency to get to feet to next phase.

VARIATIONS / PROGRESSION:

Work in one direction, not a circle.
