OBJECTIVE:

To place two hands on the opponent's hips or rip the flag (Rippa) to constitute a 'tackle'.

KEY FACTORS:

  1. Eyes on opponents hips
  2. Body position - legs bent; back straight; head up.
  3. Arms above hips.
  4. Place each hand on side of player with the ball or reach for flag.

COMMON ERRORS:

  1. Only one hand used.
  2. Player standing too upright.
  3. Player must be in a pre-tackle stance.
